Matt and I received some bad news yesterday. Holly, our corgi, was limping a bit last week, so we took her to the vet to have her leg checked out. The vet noticed her lymph nodes were swollen and wanted to do a biopsy on them to check for cancer. Yesterday we got the results of the tests back. She has lymphoma.

We'll be taking her back in this week for a few more tests to see how far along the cancer is and whether it's spread to other areas. From there we'll be able to figure out what our options are.

Personality wise, she's her normal happy, bouncy self. She doesn't seem to be in pain or at all bothered, which is good.

So if Matt and I seem a little distracted for a bit, please bear with us.

As for today's page, Mori's pulled Jack's leftover magic out of Allen's hand and added a bit of her own to help replenish what she took earlier. And yes, she added a bit of her own magic to Emily as well. Emily just worked herself into enough of an emotional tizzy that she fell asleep. Most of us have done that at one time or another.

Love Mori's expression in the last panel! And good luck with Holly! (Gotta take one o' my own 15 yr old cats to the vet tomorrow. :-( )
Neat page with Jacks magic in his hand Mr Allen is probably lucky he only had frostbite. Here's hoping for the best for Holly
love this page. good luck with Holly hoping for the best possible outcome
Loving the first and last panels. You know, this is the first time I've actually noticed that you do the old 4-digit hand thing. Just shows how well it works... And good luck with Holly, obviously.
Mori's gaining better control.

I am sorry to hear about Holly's test results. See what the vet has to say about the further testing. Best wishes for a bouncing corgi!
Love the way this page came out. And so sorry to hear about your pup, Holly! I've lost two beloved dogs to cancer, and it's heart wrenching. I hope you've detected it early enough to save her!
Wonderful story so far, as always! And positive thoughts and well wishes for Holly and for y'all! Hope they can see to things without too much trauma.
Loving the story arc and so sorry to hear about Holly. Hopefully you caught it early enough to be able to give her years yet. No pain is a good thing as well.
Hope everything goes well with Holly. Also? I can't help but think Mori actually knocked Allen out so HE can get some sleep and stop worrying, if only for a few hours, thus the reason for the white background...
Best wishes to Holly, and you too!

If you're in SF Bay Area, we can recommend a canine oncological clinic. Our current corgi is 13 3/4, and the grandson of the one we lost to lymphoma at age 6 1/2. They're amazing, stubborn, loving dogs (but not a 'starter dog').
I appreciate the offer. We're out in Connecticut, I'm afraid. The vet recommended a specialist with a very good reputation a few towns over, so she'll be in good hands. I know! Aren't they amazing little critters? I'm always surprised by how strong she is. They're big dogs who just happen to have short legs. :D
When I asked about the archives on the 19th, I was interested in the comics, not in adding a comment. Eg reviewing the page referred to in the body of that comic. Of course that might make the current "show old archives" a bit problematic.
Aah, I misunderstood. The archives are accessible from the link under the picture. However, the comic you're looking for can be found here

When I was working in ND there was a adorable Corgi named bull, who was the innkeeper's pet. I loved playing with him everytime I was around, little spoiled brat he was but just loved him. Wish you the best for Holly.
Thanks for the well-wishes! Holly's currently passed out asleep on the couch with a shaved belly - they did an ultrasound on her yesterday. She's not happy about going outside with her belly bare, but other than that she seems happy. :D
